I did not say this is a good idea. A good idea would have been to use
the Debian package for Ubuntu from the beginning and help improving it...
No, to be honest, I just saw that you have to add these epochs over
and over again for the Ubuntu package and I believed you would like to
get rid of this. ;)

We should *not* only dlopen libfaad, we should depend on it. Else we
will get hundrets of bug reports from users who installed the ffmpeg
libraries and though are still not able to play their .aac files anymore.
I have read that the ffmpeg team is working on an internal LGPL'ed
decoder in the scope of a GSOC project, but I cannot tell how far this
approach has already come.
