Bug#484132: libavcodec-dev: circular dependency with libavutil-dev

Hello Debian multimedia packages maintainers,

There is a circular dependency between libavcodec-dev and libavutil-dev:

libavcodec-dev 	:Depends: libavutil-dev (= 0.svn20080206-7)
libavutil-dev 	:Depends: libavcodec-dev (= 0.svn20080206-7)

Circular dependencies are known to cause problems during upgrade, so we
should try to get rid of them.

In this case, I do not see the point of having two packages, if users
are required to install both of them with the same version anyway.
