Now the last thing that's still remaining on my todo list is the split 
of arch-indep and arch files into separate packages. Since I haven't 
got a reply from upstream yet on this issue, I downloaded audacity 
1.3.6-2 packages for i386, amd64 and powerpc and created md5sums for 
all the files in them.

It turns out, that *all* files in i386 and amd64 are identical except 
for /usr/bin/audacity itself, of course. However, the picture is 
different when comparing amd64/i386 with powerpc: Here all files are 
identical except for /usr/bin/audacity and /usr/share/locale/*. 
Amazing, I believed that especially these files were arch-indep. Well, 
running 'file' on them reveals a "GNU message catalog (big endian), 
revision 0, 1492 messages" on powerpc and the same but "(little 
endian)" on amd64/i386 respectively.

I wonder how other packages that separate /usr/share/locale files, 
e.g. epiphany-browser-data, handle this?!
