Why? It's been in our repository for weeks:

It's just that it's been waiting for an upload ever since. ;)

And last but not least: you're subscribed to the wrong mailing list. See
CC for the right one, so you'd have already known about the 2.8.3
package, which in turn would have saved you a lot of work.
