gmerlin-avdecoder package

Hi,

I'm willing to try to get gmerlin-avdecoder into Ubuntu (see
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/283213), as this is a mandatory
dependency of latest openmovieditor.

I saw that around June, some work has been done by Romain Beauxis (see
http://lists.alioth.debian.org/pipermail/pkg-multimedia-maintainers/2009-June/004576.html
) but no news since then, and the package is not yet in Debian.

Any reason for that?

Should I just grab the debian-multimedia package, adapt the copyright
file and upload to Ubuntu or should I wait the upload in Debian?
