Just catching up on this. I was going to say to just remove the mp4ff libs
(static and shared) and development files from Debian completely. I see it's
done now anyway.
As far as mp4v2 goes, I really doubt it's the de-facto mp4 library, due to the
missing provision that GPL and LGPL programs can be linked with it. I've asked
the mp4v2 devs about this, and it doesn't seem like the license can be changed
anymore. See [1].
FFmpeg has support for mp4 stuff so it's probably better to encourage the use
of ffmpeg to devs and users for mp4.
But I suppose there's no harm in introducing the mp4v2 library to Debian if
there are programs that use it.
