The text says "based on" (if I recall correctly) which generally is no 
escape from earlier ownership, I believe.

Where did you see that?

I found _no_ licensing related to that copyright statement.


NB!  Beware also of the stripped authors I mentioned in my previous post 
(which you quoted but did not comment on, Felipe - I genereally 
recommend to quote only relevant email parts, i.e. parts you comment 
on).
