I fail to understand your arguments, when put together:

First, you turn down my proposal as "unneeded", but then you conclude 
that we do have a problem.  Isn't that the same problem which I address?

Perhaps you simply misunderstood me.  I'll try rephrase my proposal:

  1) Strip from our source files containing BSD-4 licensed parts.
  2) Re-add as Debian patch the DFSG-free parts of stripped files.

Ok?
