gigedit 0.1.1 works fine and at that time it seemed too late 'cause of
freeze was already in effect.

BTW, now, after doing much more testing, I feel comfortable to say
yes, the new release is cool and, more important, stable enough to
join Squeeze.
The problem is the time, again: release team wouldn't ACK any new
feature at this point, I think...
