Not sure if that is common practice or not.  Personally I prefer GPL-2+ 
for my packaging, except when upstream code outright conflicts with 
that.

Great.

Saw your commit, but haven't tested it yet.  Seems to me from a quick 
glance, hoever, that you save the resulting manpage in root (not in 
debian dir as earlier) - you probably want to change either that or 
adapt debian/jacktrip.manpages.

Or not, if all works ok (as I said I only looked quickly).
