I very much doubt that CDBS warned about copyright_hints being bad and 
suggested its removal.

The warning might indicate a real problem, but the addition of that file 
might very well be intentional too.

Warnings are info that _might_ be important.  So no, I cannot generally 
say that warnings are not important :-)

What was the actual warning?  Then I can elaborate on what it means, and 
how to deal with it - and you can then perhaps help suggest a better 
wording for future releases of CDBS :-)
