Debian's mediatomb package is in bad shape

I'm wondering whether we perhaps should package ps3mediaserver instead. I
haven't looked deeply into it, but it seems mediatomb doesn't support 
fastforward/back and ps3mediaserver does - that's a pretty relevant feature
imho :).

Any of you experienced with this? 

(there was already some work on that but it seems that got abandoned due to 
lack of upstream response...
