   Hello,

Are you using PulseAudio?
If so, is VLC using the Pulse or the ALSA output plugin?

Do you reproduce the problem if you start VLC as:
# vlc --aout-rate 44100
or
# vlc --aout-rate 48000

Can you please provide the VLC logs (vlc -vv) ?
