Bug#650157: mplayer command line works, GUI sometimes fails

When I use the command line (ex. mplayer dvd://1 -dvd-device /cdrom ) mplaye rworks find
But when I use the GUI to open mplayer, then sometimes it plays from the
cdrom device without a problem, and other times the mplayer process simply
crashes. I would be happy to provide a log file, but the only log file in /var/log
that I could find that always updates when this happens is /var/log is the log file
Xorg.0.log. The readout from it is:

I'm not sure this is important or not, but when I use the command line this is not added
into the logfile.
