Package: audacious-plugins
Version: 2.4.4-1+b2
Severity: normal
Hello,
I noticed what seems to be a regression in Audacious or in the Audio CD
Plugin.
I seem to be no longer able to play audio CDs with Audacious.
I remember that it used to work long ago (but I don't exactly know
in which version I last tested this feature).
Please note that I can play local audio files and Internet audio
streams.
Here's what happens.
I insert an audio CD in the CD/DVD drive, I click on the "eject" button
in Audacious's interface, and select "Audio Disc" from the pane on the
left (titled "Places").
An error dialog window appears, saying:
Could not mount Audio Disc
Location is not mountable
This puzzles me a lot, since I don't expect audio CDs to be mounted
at all, in order to play them!
Anyway:
$ grep cdrom /etc/fstab
/dev/cdrom1 /media/cdrom0 udf,iso9660 user,noauto 0 0
$ ls -lF /dev/cdrom1 /dev/sr0
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 3 Oct 14 18:43 /dev/cdrom1 -> sr0
brw-rw----+ 1 root cdrom 11, 0 Oct 14 18:43 /dev/sr0
and my user belongs to the cdrom group.
I can mount data CDROMs without any problem.
What's wrong?
Has the way to play audio CDs with Audacious changed since the last
time I successfully listened to one?
Do I recall incorrectly?
Could you please help me?
Thanks for your time.
