RFP so that d-m.o becomes useless

Hi all debian-multimedia-maintainers,
I wouldn't like to open a new bug if not strictly necessary, so I'm
asking you informally before about this bug
(devede RFP, http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=447276#29).
Now we have mencoder in debian, so would it be possible to also have
devede in repos?

I've read some of your discussions about d-m.o and the problems it takes
with package names and version numbers:
I think that getting popular apps into official repos would prevent
users from adding d-m.o to their sources.list .

I know you are already working on getting avidemux* into repos (and I
suspect that just maintaining
the packages yet in debian requires huge amount of work, for which I
thank you all),
so probably it's just matter of time before getting popular multimedia
applications in debian official repos.
If so, please let us know.

Marco

* How is co-operation with Fedora into packetizing avidemux going on?
