Hi Sergio.

While many d-m-o's packages are non freely redistributable, the packages we
maintain are DFSG free and well integrated in the Debian system: doesn't it
make official packages enough "traditional" for you?
Adjectives like "respected" might sound appropriate for d-m-o to you, but
neither to me nor to those users who have found their system broken by
packages taken from d-m-o.

This sounds very impolite to me, especially because it demonstrates you don't
know Fabian and what he does for Debian.
Fabian is a great developer who gives important contributions by taking the
responsibility of the maintainance of several packages, which means reviewing
code, fixing bugs, submitting patches upstream and more (and more, and more).

I can understand you could not know every single contributor behind the
software provided by Debian and that most of us spend own time, resources and
skills giving users stable, reliable and secure software, without being paid:
we are not interested neither in gratitude nor in money, but please don't
blame us for your ignorance.

I can understand you forgot to mention that "our priorities are our users"
and we "place their interests first": we all are human beings and we forget
important things sometimes ;-)

"or worse, Debian Developer": why should Fabian accept "this kind of big
mouthing" from you? And furthermore: where is written "Debian Developers must
never express strong disapproval"?
Please point me to the proper references.

Regards.

I've redirected this mail to DMM's mailing list instead of the
bug#660924's report, seems more appropriate to me.
