Bug#658929: Please enable hardened build flags

I have renamed the "hardening" branch to "experimental" and hope that 
someone is keen enough to upload it to exact this Debian suite (or 
even keener and merge it into "master"). ;)

However, the "hardening" branch is still on alioth and "git push 
origin :hardening" gives me:
remote: *** Deleting a branch is not allowed in this repository

Could someone with more git-fu help me delete it?
