The problem is that devede depends on mencoder, which doesn't compile
against the current version of libavcodec we have in jessie and later.
I see two ways this can be addressed:

1) fix/patch/update  #726838 by updating mplayer/mencoder to compile
against current libavcodec
2) make devede not depend on mencoder at all.

I think we should do both. Given that the upstream changelog claims to
support avconv directly, 2 might be rather easy to implement.
