Please reconsider: What was unclear in the original bugreport is that
oss4 is (mainly, if not solely) for non-Linux architectures.
If enabling OSS support cause VLC to become unstable, then I suggest to
enable it only on non-Linux archs, by the argument that unstable VLC is
better than totally silent VLC on those archs.
