Time to orphan libquicktime?

As you can see from the following discussion, the Debian Multimedia
Maintainers team (essentially the group of people who take care about
libav, libquicktime and gmerlin - and many more - within Debian) are
concerned about the libquicktime's upstream status of work:

Can you please give us any information?
Do you (or any other of the upstream's team behind libquicktime) have
a development plan for it?
