I can reproduce the crash by doing:

head -c 200000 Nosferatu_a_Venezia_-_Pelicula_Completa_audio_espa_ol.webm > sample.webm

then doing "vlc sample.webm", setting the speed to 3x, then doing a
sequence of stop/play. This doesn't always yield a crash. I sometimes
need to do Ctrl-C and try again several times.
