return of the mpalyer package?!

Hello:

Is there something we can do about this? I have not tested the package
in NEW but it may FTBFS on at least hurd-i386 since it disabled the
hurd patch. Not sure if it can be stopped/Rejected at NEW just because
of this.

It went backwards since usually the new party contacts the current
maintainers but FWIW I have no issue with them joining the team and
helping on the package. I asked them to join back in December and they
seemed to have agreed so hopefully there is no issue there.
