Alright, let me fix this then by changing my mind on the subject (and
giving us more time to debate):

   I vote for libav to stay until very compelling reasons to switch
   to ffmpeg are provided.

There is no room for statements like "clear consensus" now - by definition.

Once again: please do not push people to make rushed decisions. There
is no need to rush at all.
