that's rather by intention: the "ardour3" package should never have
installed ardour-4.

in any case, we are currently in a state of transition:
 the "ardour3" packaged is being *removed* from Debian entirely, and the
"ardour" package provides an up-to-date version of ardour (currently
ardour-4.2).

the next upload of ardour (currently building) will also feature a
transitional "ardour3" package, that will ease migration for existing users.
