I think it could. I have just uploaded a new kodi version to unstable
which should work with the new ABI if it changed.

Tobias, could you please share the test file or test kodi again?

Unstable and testing has the same ffmpeg. If you run kodi from testing
(16.1+dfsg1-1) it should crash but kodi from unstable (16.1+dfsg1-2)
should work fine if the root cause is ABI breakage and it is not fixed
yet in ffmpeg.
