Given that you say the bug only happens after you upgrade nvidia-driver,
I think it's likely that it's a bug in that driver instead of in mpv, so
I am reassigning it accordingly.

Please can you also say:
- What version of nvidia-driver you upgraded _from_
- What model you graphics card is
- Anything else which mpv prints before crashing (run in a terminal)

As a temporary workaround, you could downgrade nvidia-driver or maybe
use another mpv video output driver. You can run "mpv --vo help" to list
them all.
