I tried redirecting stderr to a file and flactag wouldn't run at all,
the stderr file just contained some HTTP error code

I tried again just now and I notice flactag's Rename operation calls
the file NOARTIST-NOALBUM.flac so it looks like this bug / API change
makes it almost completely nonfunctional.

Personally, I think the issues with REST APIs like this changing
around need to be on the radar of the release team well before the
freeze, hence severity serious or higher.

Maybe the MusicBrainz people can provide a legacy API. Maybe Debian
can reduce our dependency on packages with these issues or look at
ways to make it easier to update such packages during the life of a
stable release. There are a whole class of packages with issues like
this now due to dependencies on public REST services yet I haven't
seen any Debian strategy for dealing with it.

For more exotic packages the updates can just be made available
through backports but this is a package installed by default on most
desktops.
