Finally, after several months, sonic-pi entered Debian unstable
yesterday. But there are a few issues that should be adressed before it
will enter testing and become part of the next stable release.
- The sonic-pi package depend on supercollider-sc-plugins, which fail
to build on several architectures.
- The sonic-pi package fail to build on several architectures, but not
the sames as supercollider-sc-plugins.
There are two approaches to fix it. We can try to port both packages to
the same set of architectures, or we can limit sonic-pi to the
architectures where supercollider-sc-plugins is available. The best
approach would be to fix the build problems, but I do not expect to have
time to do it myself. The easy approach is to make sonic-pi
build-depend on supercollider-sc-plugins and ask the ftpmasters for
removal of sonic-pi on the architectures where it do not work.
What would you want to do?
