OK, so let me explain a bit:
avconv is part of Libav, which was replaced by FFmpeg in
unstable and testing.

So please install the ffmpeg package from backports and
try your commands with 'avconv' replaced by 'ffmpeg'
and report if this helps or you still see a problem.
