I think this is the correct behavior.

LXDE does not depend on mpv directly - it depends on smplayer. smplayer
requires a copy of either mpv or mplayer to be installed. To ensure this
dependency remains satisfied, apt will install mplayer if you manually
remove mpv. If you want to remove both mpv and mplayer, you must also
remove smplayer.
