Ah, right, it didn't occur to me that there was a hardware component
involved.

I had initially thought about it, but installing older versions from
snapshot can often turn into a recursive nightmare when many libraries
are involved.  I imagined this would be the case for mpv.  Turns out I
was dead wrong.  :)

(I was further surprised at how smooth and painless bisecting was.
Pretty much the exact opposite of my previous experience with MPlayer
years ago.)
