I can reproduce this issue using sbuild.

$ sbuild --arch=i386 -A a52dec_0.7.4-18
[...]
FAIL: globals
=============

BAD GLOBAL SYMBOLS:
__x86.get_pc_thunk.di
__x86.get_pc_thunk.cx
__x86.get_pc_thunk.dx
__x86.get_pc_thunk.ax
__x86.get_pc_thunk.bx
__x86.get_pc_thunk.ax
__x86.get_pc_thunk.bx
__x86.get_pc_thunk.di
__x86.get_pc_thunk.si
FAIL globals (exit status: 1)

Are you sure you're building with i386 (the issue does not occur on amd64).

Thanks,
James
