Decoding or displaying video via VDPAU (`mpv --hwdec=vdpau --vo=vdpau
…`) produces many kernel log messages of the form

    nouveau 0000:00:0a.0: DRM: skipped size 0000000000000000

Playing the same video via the same method using mplayer (`mplayer -vc
ffh264vdpau -vo vdpau …`) produces no log messages, leading me to
believe this is a bug in mpv, rather than in Mesa or Nouveau.

This is almost certainly an upstream bug, as it appears in Gentoo’s
mpv as well (see discussion in
https://people.freedesktop.org/~cbrill/dri-log/index.php?channel=nouveau&date=2017-04-20).
