​As a member of team you can start work​ on any package I believe. Yes you
can contact other uploaders to be super-polite but I think it is not
mandatory.

​Basically yes ​... let someone experienced review your work when ready.
You anyway will need someone to upload as you don't have uploading rights
yet I guess.
