   * What led up to the situation?

Installing Csound and Sugar.

   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
     ineffective)?

Download and run Sugar activity Music Keyboard.

   * What was the outcome of this action?

Segmentation fault.

   * What outcome did you expect instead?

No segmentation fault.

Upstream patch df5658c solves this problem, see also upstream issue 948.
