As a side note, I am not sure if new packages are automagically added to
the tracker team (using the maintainer email address), or they have to
be added manually.

If automatic, we need to take care of the email address associated to
the team in tracker.debian.org. Didn't we agree to use
debian-multimedia at lists.debian.org for packages now (instead of opting
into the new debian.net alioth migration list)? If so, tracker should be
updated eventually, as it lists the old
pkg-multimedia-maintainers at lists.alioth.debian.org maintainer address.
