Oh, yes, I totally misunderstood indeed.
Then sure, you don't need to ask -release permission to upload anything
to experimental.
And I deem to say you may as well either just upload it to unstable
right away (and then release team will rebuild it once libgig is
uploaded), or just upload it right after libgig is uploaded to unstable.
