It will definitely not happen before 3.5 is released upstream. After
that I would like to get the majority of the FTBFS bugs fixed before
starting the transition. My current guess is sometime in March or April.

Thanks. I made one comment on the pull request about handling older
FFmpeg versions correctly. Apart from that I think the PR is fine.
