Package: sonic-pi

Hi.

It has come to my attention as part of my raspberry pi related efforts that the sonic-pi package in Debian is way behind upstream. The last maintainer upload to the archive was over 3 years ago. Since then there have been numerous new upstream releases. There does seem to be some recent activity on salsa, but no sign of work on new upstream versions.

I have started looking at a new upstream version. I have a package that builds, but it will need testing and cleanup before it is ready to go into Debian.

Does anyone have any objections to me working on getting a new upstream version into Debian? What would be the best mechanism for me to do so? NMU? joining the team? would any of the people previously involved in sonic-pi packaging care to review my efforts?

(note: I am aware we are in freeze, so any uploads to sid will need to wait until after the buster release)
