[debian-mysql] Bug#477668: mysql-server-5.0: slow information_schema on all versions of mysql 5.0 and 5.1

the whole issue is described and discussed here:

it is confirmed, it is serious (it could be easly used as DoS)
it also makes bigger servers unusable.

it breaks phpmyadmin and many other software scripts, including mysql itself.

the problem is that information_schema is very slow on system with many databases, so slow that it's becoming unusable

this is of course mysql bug, but why debian doesn't recognize it, and allows installation of this mysel server in it's stable branch ?

versions affacted are: 5.0.x and 5.1.x , althoigh some early 5.0 might not get affected

since mysql doesn't bother to fix this, maybe debian will, or at least debian could not put affected mysql servers into stable
