Package: mysql-server
Version: 5.0.51a-15
Severity: important

Hello:

I've upgraded to the version I mention in the subject from 5.0.51a-14 and after some inactivity
in the computer I returned and noticed this first two lines from the top command:

24437 root 20 0 3880 468 420 R 94 0.0 156:51.72 mysqld_safe
25608 root 20 0 3880 608 480 S 94 0.0 4:39.10 mysqld_safe

Also a ps aux |grep mysql returned this:

root 24437 1.3 0.0 3880 456 ? S Sep09 152:32 /bin/sh /usr/bin/mysqld_safe
root 25608 0.1 0.0 3880 608 ? R 21:23 0:18 /bin/sh /usr/bin/mysqld_safe
root 26699 0.0 0.0 14096 972 /var/lib/schroot/mount/experimental-47e60a3c-0d0e-4796-878f-8fa319abdb23/dev/pts/10 Ss+ Sep13 0:00 /usr/bin/dpkg --status-fd 34 --configure libnet-daemon-perl libplrpc-perl libdbi-perl libdbd-mysql-perl mysql-client-5.0 mysql-server-5.0 libncursesw5 netbase libruby1.8 ruby1.8 libreadline-ruby1.8 irb1.8 kde-icons-oxygen kdebase-runtime-bin-kde4 kdebase-runtime-data-common kdebase-runtime-data kdebase-runtime kdebase-runtime-dbg libkdecorations4 libkwineffects1 kde-window-manager kdebase-workspace-data libplasma2 kdebase-workspace-libs4+5 kdebase-workspace-bin kdebase-workspace-dbg klipper ksysguard systemsettings kdebase-workspace kdm ksysguardd lib32ncurses5 libopenssl-ruby1.8 libpoppler3 libpoppler-qt4-3 libsane libsmpeg0 libterm-readkey-perl linux-libc-dev mysql-server sane-utils akonadi-server

Noticed that upgrade ended up successfully and I even had exit from aptitude.

"invoke-rc.d mysql stop" didn't actually killed the processes, I repeated several times
without success. Only killall -9 could get rid of them.

After this I restart the mysql server again, so far mysql looks to be working correctly.

I don't know if I will be able to provide much more info, but count on me if you think
I can be of any help.

Thanks.
