Hello,
I have experienced this problem more than once in the past, but only
today caught the problem in a way that is worth reporting:

Ie, there is no "Starting MySQL database server: mysqld.", and 'ps'
shows that MySQL isn't running. Saying '/etc/init.d/mysql start' works
like a charm, however.
Kind regards,
