According to his comment, there are two potential bugs which could cause
your problem,  #28837 and #28574.

#28837 is fixed in 5.0.54, #28574 in 5.0.44.

Could you please try 5.0.51a from backports.org? If you're still seeing
the error with 5.0.51a, you're likely affected by #28837.

No, lenny will ship with 5.0.51a, but if you're really affected by 
#28837 we could of course add a backport of the bugfix to our package
in lenny.
