[debian-mysql] Bug#570568: mysql-server-5.0: replication fails when dropping non-existent view

Package: mysql-server-5.0
Version: 5.0.51a-24+lenny3
Severity: important

My replication setup just stopped working. I found it is because of

    http://bugs.mysql.com/bug.php?id=30998

Replication breaks any time you try to drop a view that did not exist,
because mysql includes it in its binary log anyway. Wow! Obviously,
makes the system unreliable.

I noticed that bug 463515 is a backport of another replication bug, so I
see that this sort of fix has been applied before, but this was before
the lenny release. Would a backport of this fix be pushed into stable?
I can look at doing the work if it would help you.

Andrew
