Have we had bug reports from users complaining their databases weren't
deleted on purge? Do we expect any such reports in the future? What's
the 'damage' in this case.
We have had several reports from users complaining their databases
were deleted. In this case, 'damage' can be big.

Not bad! So /etc/mysql/debian.cnf is the only real issue?
