IMO this _is_ a 1-way trip if there is any possibility that the user
will have to manually alter their tables to go back to MySQL-compatible
formats.

I think everybody will be happier if we just split the datadirs up for
10.0. We can still offer to the user to copy the data from mysql when
10.0 is first installed.
