Since the freeze date is in early November 2014, can we try to get this option moving, as MariaDB 10.0 is IMHO filled with a lot more features compared to 5.5

Upstream will publish security releases for many years to come -- it is the choice of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7, so the commitment is there
