Well we could do it that way - however I really like todo:
debcheckout -a 'pkgname'
and then not have to fiddle around figuring which branch I should be
using for which source package. I prefer to use branches for releases
of said source package - say a branch for stable updates for a given
package.
I think that sticking to this convention (which I believe is common
place across Debian) is the right thing todo.
