Indeed sleep 5 fixes it for me too.

Well for me, if I get errors with just one command, that is bad. Errors
with zero commands is even worse!

Anyway, when starting one sees ". . ." and it takes several seconds
before one gets back to the root prompt. Perhaps this last connection
should be part of that too, before it is safe to say that it is fully
started. Else won't even normal using the daemon commands mess up too if
done too soon after starting? Anyway BAD!
